Okay, I admit it. I had all the feels about being featured the WordCamp Greenville 2020 landing page. From the moment Steve pointed it out, I’ve had this little inner smile. It means a lot to me that my peers thought my talk was featurable material.

My WordCamp GVL Talk 2019

I had a lot of fun last year, but I was a hot mess. Seriously, I was so nervous that I was sweating. Not just typical nervousness sweating either. I couldn’t figure out how to get my slide show to work. I fumbled hard at the start, but the audience hung in there with me. By the end, I found my rhythm and it was a very strong presentation. I answered a lot of questions, and I am sure that most people got a lot of value out of our time together. Even still, I was drenched in sweat. I had to change my shirt when it was all over. I was afraid my armpit stains would show. Clearly stretching myself paid off.

Afterward, I sat on a panel with my good friend David and a few other people. David had a moment there, because he wowed us all with his knowledge of Search Engine Optimization. The crowd basically had him teaching a mini-lesson. It was fun to watch him share information, and be so helpful to our community.  I learned a lot, and so it was a really good day.

I met some of my favorite influencers for the first time at WordCamp Greenville: William, Aida, and April. Plus, I got a chance to hang out with some of my special WP Gang. The food was great, and the venue was posh. The room had a lovely talk show style stage and glass doors. It was a vibe.

WordCamp Greenville 2020

I will totally be hanging out at WordCamp Greenville this year, and I am working on my speaker application. I hope they will allow me to speak again. My personal goals for 2020 are to make my presentations more interactive and grow my tribe.

Unlike most of the other WordCamps I’ve attended, this one is only one day long; you should come hang out with me.

It is only $25, and in exchange you get:

  • A full day of speakers and sessions
